Converse today finally unveiled the highly anticipated update to the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star. While retaining the DNA of the famous sneaker, the Chuck Taylor All Star II boasts a number of new improvements that maximises comfort and gives the shoe a brand new feel without compromising what we all love about the original. Constructed with a new premium Tencel canvas upper lined with soft perforated micro suede, memory foam along the collar and tongue retains the shape of the iconic silhouette to keep the shoe looking fresh after plenty of mileage. Underneath, the updated lightweight sole benefits from Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning that gives the sneaker a modern feel that many consumers have come to expect in 2015.
Aesthetically, the designers at Converse decided to take away the iconic pinstriping on the midsole and added tonal eyelets, creating a minimalist look that breathes new life into the 1917 Chuck Taylor while staying true to its roots. Available in a high and low top, they will be dropping worldwide at retailers from the 28th of July, we expect the Chuck II to become a new classic that carries the torch forward into the bright future of Converse.
